RRB JE Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 4,029 Junior Engineer, DMS & CMA Posts

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB JE Recruitment 2026 notification under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 for recruitment to Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts.

The recruitment notification was released on 13 August 2026, and the vacancy has subsequently been revised through Corrigendum-1. The total number of vacancies is now 4,029. The online application process started on 14 August 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official RRB application portal until 13 September 2026, 11:59 PM.

Candidates with the required Diploma, Engineering Degree, or prescribed B.Sc. qualification can apply for the relevant posts. Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level 6, with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month, along with applicable allowances.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age limit, nationality and medical requirements before submitting the application.

Educational Qualification

For Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent posts, candidates generally need a relevant three-year Diploma in Engineering or an Engineering Degree in the discipline specified for the particular post.

The qualification must be possessed by the candidate on or before 13 September 2026, the closing date of the online application. Final-year candidates who do not possess the required qualification by the cut-off date are not eligible.

CMA Qualification

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry as subjects, with at least 45% marks, as prescribed in the RRB JE Recruitment 2026 notification.

RRB JE Age Limit 2026

RRB JE Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test – CBT 1
2. Computer Based Test – CBT 2
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Examination

CBT 1 is primarily used for screening and shortlisting candidates for CBT 2. Candidates are shortlisted for CBT 2 based on normalized CBT 1 scores, with the reported shortlisting ratio being 15 candidates for each vacancy. Final merit is based on CBT 2 performance, subject to document verification and medical fitness.

There is a 1/3 mark negative marking for each incorrect answer in both CBT 1 and CBT 2.
