Under central government recruitment policies, all women candidates irrespective of category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) are completely exempt from paying application fees in SSC and UPSC examinations.
Indian Railways charges ₹500 from UR/OBC and refunds ₹400 directly to the candidate's bank account upon appearing for CBT-1. Reserved and female candidates receive a full ₹250 refund.
