Exam Overview
National testing examination conducted by NTA to determine eligibility for Assistant Professorship and award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities.
Age & Educational Eligibility
Master's Degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD). Age for JRF: Max 30 years; No age limit for Assistant Professor.
Selection & Written Exam Pattern
Paper-I: Teaching & Research Aptitude (50 Qs / 100 Marks / 1 Hr). Paper-II: Subject Specialization (100 Qs / 200 Marks / 2 Hrs). Total 150 Qs / 300 Marks / 3 Hours continuous CBT with no negative marking.
Subject-Wise Syllabus Structure
Paper-I (Teaching Aptitude, Research Methodology, Comprehension, Communication, Math Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, DI, ICT, People & Environment, Higher Education). Paper-II subject specific.
